  2. So why doesn't a new car that was taken out from the dealership for a test drive droop in value? The reason new cars drop in value so much is because new cars are grossly over priced by the stealership in the 1st place. Once it leaves the stealership, its price is dictated by the market and is controlled by the market and fair market value.
