Hyundai Motor’s sales in Jan. down 7.7% y/y, Kia Motors’ sales up 1.2% y/y

Korean automakers released their sales figures
for the month of January. It was something of a mixed bag. For details let’s turn to our Kim Hyesung. Korean automakers’ car sales for January dropped
five percent on-year to 586 thousand units on sluggish overseas sales. The country’s leading automaker Hyundai Motor…
sold a total of around 313-thousand cars in January, down 7-point-7 percent from the same
period last year. Its domestic sales were strong however,…
rising 17-point-five percent thanks to its Granger sedans and Palisade SUVs,… the latter
of which sold a record 59-hundred units for the month. Much of the fall was due to sluggish sales
abroad,… which slumped 12 percent on-year to around 250-thousand units in January…
mainly due to poor demand in the Chinese market. Hyundai Motor’s affiliate Kia Motors saw its
sales tick up slightly,… by 1 percent on-year to around 209 thousand cars thanks to its
Sportage SUVs. Although its domestic sales dropped, it sold
more vehicles abroad,… to the tune of 171-thousand units, which was a two-percent increase. Other Korean automakers including Renault
Samsung Motors and GM Korea both saw their sales fall. Ssangyong Motor on the other hand,… saw
its sales soar 12 percent on-year to around 11-thousand units thanks to its Rexton Sports
Khan SUVs. Kim Hyesung, Arirang News.

  1. In japan Korea and China make a car don’t look it.
Because no shop treat it,Japanese are careful with after-service.it use long time, like safety better than price.
Machine safety is trust, but not price.
But Japanese factory of car can’t trust necessary by disguise data.
