How to sell more cars with 3rd party listing sites | Marketing Solutions STL

What’s going on everybody! We are here
with another episode of Benny and the Jeff! Today we want to talk about some
aggregator sites. There’s a lot of stuff going on online right now and a lot of
rifts and rafts and turmoil in regards to your auto traders, CarGurus, cars.com,
sites like that. I think the common misconception for dealers is those
sites are actually designed to drive traffic to your website, however they’re
really not. My partner Jeff, worked for an aggregator company for a long time a
few different one’s, probably 10 or 15 of them. so he better you know the most people.
What are some of the different KPIs, some of the different you know analytics
that people need to look at to see whether or not they’re getting an ROI
and that their aggregate or sites are actually performing correctly? Well
that’s a great question, you know one of the biggest things that I always noticed
working with Auto Trader and Kelley Blue Book and those brands, was that the last
click attribution continues to get put to put in from the dealers. So everybody
looks at, well it came from my website, it came from my website, it came from a
website. Well what you really have to look at if you’re if you are having good
success with those aggregators is you have to look at not only the referrals
that it’s bringing in, but then you have to really dig into Google Analytics and
look at what pages they’re coming to and if they are submitting the forms and
look at those goals that they’re doing. Because at the end of the day some of
them are really good at doing that and some of or not. And that’s what you
really have to determine, you know and when it when it comes to those third
parties is, are you really looking for traffic? Are you looking for leads or
what are you looking for? What do you want? What are you trying to gauge is
your ROI? So at the end of the day, you have to inspect what you expect, which is
you know, you’ve got to make sure that you’ve got the cars merchandise, you’ve
got to make sure that you got the right car and you got to make sure it’s priced
right. If those three things aren’t happening, you’re not going to get any
traffic on third party sites, at all period!
