2020 Mazda CX-30 Preview | carsales

This is Mazda’s new medium-sized SUV. It fits between the CX-3 and CX-5 in the line-up. So what do you reckon it’s called? If you guessed CX-4 you’re so wrong… That badge has already been allocated to an
SUV only sold in China, so instead this car has been named the CX-30. Built in Thailand and on-sale on-sale in Australia
in February, the CX-30 is a five-seat SUV that will be available in four model trims,
two engine choices, one six-speed auto and front- or all-wheel drive. So engine-wise you’re looking at a 2.0-litre
four-cylinder or this 2.5-litre … later on we’ll get the radical compression ignition
Skyactiv-X engine. Pricing starts at $29,990 for the entry level
2.0-litre G20 Pure and climbs all the way to $43,490 plus on-road costs for this G25
Astina. Inside, the cabin is pretty familiar because
it is based on the same design as the Mazda3 small car. So that means a clean simple look with a non-touch
infotainment screen sitting atop the dashboard. PTC: One of the big selling points of the
motivators of the CX-30 over the CX-3 is it’s got a bigger boot. But in Australia it loses some of that advantage
because of this… a temporary spare tyre. But Mazda argues it’s still a bigger boot
than the CX-3 and the CX-30’s more spacious in the rear seat as well… And it’s confidently predicting the CX-30
will become one of it big sellers … maybe it will split the CX-3 and CX-5… … just like it does in size.
